Why work with a mental health professional?

What is the benefit of working with a consultant?

The benefit to working with a consultant is that an objective third party can come in and assist you in assessing the needs of the workplace and the workers, what can be improved, what strengths you and your workers have and how to build on that, and how to implement specific tools into your work space.

Having general mental health tips and tools can help you and your business thrive. Bringing awareness and education to mental health issues can help people understand themselves more and improve working together. According to an article on the National Press Foundation, here is a quote about a workplace supporting employee mental health (Jones, 2025): ‘Grogan told fellows that flexibility and autonomy in accessing mental health support in the workplace benefits everyone, “especially folks who are undergoing extreme challenges to their mental health, whether that is short-term, long-term,” she said. “Being able to have flexibility, a voice in your day, being able to plan out what you need in that moment, feeling supported by your colleagues, by your manager, all of these things benefit our mental health and the way that we then actually do our job.’”

Why care about mental health and cultural competency?

Mental health and diversity issues aren’t isolated and often times go hand-in-hand. Having more education about mental health and cultural competency can reduce burnout and increase awareness of self, which improve group and individual work.
