Consultation with mental health professionals

I offer consultation services to other mental health professionals. Consultation and supervision are different, but consultation can be beneficial and supportive for you and your client. As therapist’s, we don’t know everything (nor should we).

Consulting with another professional can help you when you feel stuck, confused, or need to bounce ideas off of someone else. I work from a narrative, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach. As a woman of color, I also take an intersectional approach as a therapist and consultant. I work with clinicians who are feeling stuck, working with certain populations for the first time, or who want or need extra support with case(s). I value working together and being in community with one another. Part of my cultural values is being in community and leaning on one other when someone needs support, and I bring that into the space as we work together. My approach to consultation is understanding that we can learn from one another and we are stronger when we work and learn together.

I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, depression, anxiety, relational stressors, and life stressors/changes. I have over 10 years of experience in the field from working in a group practice and community mental health, to working a short-term inpatient facility, school systems, non-profits, and as a hotline advocate for sexual assault survivors as a college student. I also have extensive experience working with teens, adults, and families who’ve been impacted by trauma, marginalized identities, and poverty. I support other therapists through consultation who want support in the following populations or topics:

  • Domestic violence and sexual assault survivors

  • Trauma survivors/ PTSD

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Working with teens

  • Working with the Native population

  • Multi-cultural approaches

  • Working in rural communities

  • Suicide ideation, self-harm, and safety planning

  • How to start a private practice

  • How to become an independent contractor with school districts
