Supervision for Registered Professional Associates
I am a supervisor for Registered Professional Associates in the state of Oregon as a supervisor candidate. I use an experiential, developmental, and multi-cultural approach to supervision. I believe supervision to be relationship-based education. With my approach to supervision, I keep in mind what will work best with your work as a clinician and personality. My goal is to help you prepare for your future as a licensed clinician. My scope of practice is working with teens and adults who’ve experienced abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, life stressor/changes, and relational struggles. In addition to private practice, I also work as an independent contractor as a mental health consultant and therapist at a school district. My experience with working in schools, non-profit, community mental health, and group and private practice helps provide an integrative approach to clinical work. I use narrative therapy, client-centered, motivational interviewing, and a trauma-informed approach. I am also EMDR trained but not an EMDRIA certified therapist, consultant, or supervisor.
Supervision will be semi-structured and collaborative. As a woman of color, I understand how the world influences and impacts us as humans and as a therapist, as well as the clients we work with. Supervision is an important and forming time in your beginning career as a clinician that should be supported with care and guidance. My goal is help you gain an understanding of ethics, treatment planning, writing progress notes, case conceptualization, working within your theory, and help you build your confidence as a new therapist.
We might be a good fit if you:
